WHY I CARE ABOUT POLITICS
I am here today because America drew my Mom’s family here after the Communists invaded her home country of Hungary in 1956. She, my Grandma Vali, my Grandpa Alfonz, and my Aunt Chris came here as refugees, after bribing border guards in Austria with jewels, surviving a refugee camp where her formerly-aristocratic family slept four to a bunk, and finally, two years later, making it to Hollywood: the city of big dreams in the land of the “free.” I am not willing to let the dreams of my family who fled their home and traveled across the ocean to come here, fall apart. You should not be either.

BUT IT’S ALL SO OVERWHELMING
I try to be an involved, educated, and engaged citizen of the United States of America. I don’t want this democracy of ours to fall. I am also, totally overwhelmed.
