I try to be an involved, educated, and engaged citizen of the United States of America. I don’t want this democracy of ours to fall.
Which is why I have been inspired to start Momfluentials and planned this Mastermind about what to do after the midterms. From my small hometown in coastal California and beyond across the Country, the information on candidates and bills and measures is nutso! There is truly conflicting and intentionally confusing information and data on every item you are going to vote on. This is not to say that there are not good people running for leadership positions on both sides of the aisle. There are.
It’s just that if more Democrats win the midterms then, there are going to be even more desperate Republicans and more mudslinging and media BS than ever before. And if more Republicans win the midterms then, there are going to be even more desperate Democrats and more mudslinging and media BS than ever before.
YEA, YOU READ THAT RIGHT
It seems to me that whatever the results, we are kinda screwed because this Great Experiment that is American Democracy is in a pendulum, driven by fear, corruption, dark money, greed, anger, and algorithms that put each of us in more and more extremist and silo’d positions every day and every election cycle. So, the midterms… It’s all so overwhelming, no matter what happens.
